The waiter was nice. The food on the other hand is awful. There was barely anything to choose from to be called a buffet, and the stuff that were put out stink of mold and most of it were hard or burnt. Probably not going to come back.
The food is not very good. Thin pieces of chicken and don't go if there's more than 3 ppl (orange chicken) because waiting for them to make a small dish size at a time is a very long wait. Also, the egg rolls are dry and chewy. I mean I can't cook so I'll give it 2 stars.
I’m not sure if the food was as bad as I thought or if I was just so upset about waiting 2 hours and 25 minutes for my take out, when I was told my food would be ready in 1 hour. The servers made it seem like no big deal that I sat in the parking lot for an hour and a half waiting. I had the general chicken and it was awful and tasted nothing like traditional general chicken. The house lo mein was pretty good. That’s the only thing I would order again if I was to ever even consider going back. Sure don’t plan on it though!
When its so bad your dog wont even eat it...that says something. Ordered door dash, and the sesame chicken was more like cardboard jerky...it had to have been sitting in their buffet all day. I have a video of our dog sniffing it and walking away. DO NOT order the take out. Absolute garbage.
Very poor customer service. Long waits after being quoted 20-30 minutes. Took over an hour. Will never come back. Yangs in Woodbury is where everyone should take their business.
Had them a few years ago and thought it was awful. Ordered again thinking it might be better now and it wasn't. Soggy egg roll, soggy chicken. Bummer.
Had chicken chowmien with fake chicken. Yuck! Dogs loved it!
Really excellent lunch buffet for a really good price! 👍
Never had a bad experience
It's great food, just Everytime I order food from you guys. Y'all always asking for a tip, which u shouldn't be. Never see no other services asking for tips like this place.
Friendly service and great food. Great stop for lunch!
Favorite buffet! I love their lo mein.
Typical Chinese buffet, but you get what you pay for and it isn't expensive.
Great, very reasonably priced lunch buffet. $8.30 for buffet and hot tea.
Nice staff but it was dirty inside, the food was overcooked in some cases and just tasted bad in others. Would not recommend and will not go back.
Food was not great. Not bad but not worth going out of your way to try it out.
I've been eating here since I was a kid. 20+ years later, and the food is still just as good as it has always been. I've tried to find a place that makes better sesame or sweet & sour chicken, but nothing else compares to Ho King! The lo mein and egg drop soup are incredible, too. Not only is the food really good, but the owners are great, kind people.
Love that they got single stall bathrooms I was able to spend a lot of time there.
generous helpings and delicious. owner came out and chatted with us- very friendly!
The food well it wasn't that good I could of stayed home and made a better Chinese dish to make up. The egg rolls weren't good at all they had a funny after taste. The beef and broccoli well let's just say the broccoli was way over cooked. The fried rice looked like they were trying to cover something up with how dark it was. The chow main looked like something you would feed to a cat. Hands down the worst Chinese place I have ever been to.
Pretty classic Chinese buffet...they keep the food rolling.
Very good food with great service and several great options. A tradition in Cottage Grove that has earned their great reputation.
Owners are great. Theyre buffet is cheap and filled with goodies.By far the best chinese place in cottage grove.
Food was mediocre at best. Seemed like it was a TV dinner. Service was good enough would not recommend though and won't be back
Good Chow Mein... Could do better at keeping the buffet stocked...
Good Chinese buffet with a couple of outstanding options at an unbeatable price which includes your drink. The owners are very friendly and attentive to their customers as well. I stop here for lunch every time I'm in the area.
Will not ever eat here again. The egg drop soup smelled and tasted like rotten fish. Fried rice was fake. White rice was hard in spots. General tso's chicken was obviously Frozen and gross. Would've given 0 stars if possible.
Crunchy rice and salty soy. If this is your thing then this is your place. If you want quality, good tasting food then go someplace else.
Food was ok...the general so chicken wasn't good at yhe buffett but the price was right.
Haven't been here in awhile and won't be back. Cream cheese wontons tasted sour like something had gone bad. Pork was super tough and breading was soggy, tough and damp. Don't order takeout while they have the buffet, amost tasted like they pulled it off the buffet and packed it. Super disappointed because it used to be so good. 1 star because the fried rice was good.
Ordered take out and the orange chicken was soggy and beef and broccoli was sour to the taste and it only took one bite to give me a stomachache. Never coming back.
Just ok. Food lacked flavor. Both me and the finance thought the same thing.
Never been here, but I have a very similar number to the one that they have so people keep calling me. I've now started taking orders from people and asking them if they would like their meat choice substituted with human meat for an extra $15. Alternatively I've asked people if they would like for me to have the chef beat their meat prior to packing it. 5 stars for the endless supply of fantastic reactions from people.
The food has always been great from Ho King when my husband and I have ordered delivery. The delivery drivers we've had have been friendly, also friendly service when calling in to order, never any issues. If we order on a busier evening, they apologize if they are running a little late. We usually get the sesame chicken, house fried rice, beef with pea pods, and a couple of egg rolls.
The absolute worst Chinese food I ever had. Ho king should close it's doors and never open again!
I’m really happy with the politeness of the staff. The food is very good in my opinion. I really like there cream cheese wontons and chicken lo mein. We Ordered for delivery. Don’t live far from the restaurant. The hostest did inform us it would be about an hour. How ever it took almost two, which was very disappointing as it took almost till 9:00 to get her and we had a very hungry toddler who needed to go to bed. I do understand it’s the business and it is what it is! Besides that I have no complaints at all. And we were very satisfied. Good pricing as well.
This place is awesome. Food is great. Very comfortable atmosphere. Sweet people run the place
First time to Ho King since it was close to home. There was no food and it was only 7pm. Everything looked like it has been sitting there forever. I hate to leave a bad review but this was by far the worst Chinese restaurant I have ever gone to in my life. Took our friends kids to have dinner there and I felt bad for the kids due to having to wait for them to make food. And no we did not go late at night. Service could be better and food for sure could be WAY BETTER. Hope they try to improve. I love to eat and this place I will never go back.
I love this place, Great price and great food.
Ate in twice since we moved to the neighborhood, both times food looked old like it was out for hours. Rarely do we call in for delivery because for some reason delivery is said to be there in an hour, I live less than a quarter mile from them. So I call in for pick up, except not one person who ever answers the phone knows the menu. Ordered a combination dish that came with chicken fried rice and an egg roll, got the right chicken wrong rice and no egg roll and order was ripped off the bag. Done ordering here, seriously slow, seriously terrible at delivery and the phone line is a joke because there isn't even call waiting or a busy signal.
I took my girlfriend there for a quick bite before heading out of town. The service was nice and everyone was friendly. Atmosphere was of q typical restaurant but the noise level was comfortable. We were able to hear one another throughout our quick meal.
Everything tasted the same. General Tso's was indistinguishable from the egg rolls. I fully expected the fortune cookies to taste like the mushrroms, which tasted like the lo mein (which was overcooked). I mean, it's food, it didn't taste BAD, and it fills you up, but don't expect anything to write home about.
Awesome food excellent service would recommend to anyone
Love this restaurant and the people that own it are so friendly. This restaurant's buffet is worth every penny. We now go at least every 2 weeks. Support your locals!!!
I don’t know why everyone is saying the place is nasty! Try it for yourself, I tried them for the first time tonight and they were very good! I had fried chicken, vegetable fried rice, beef lo mein, and shrimp egg foo young! It was outstanding! It took a little long but it was worth the wait. Try it for yourself .
I simply enjoyed their dishes. I always get fantastic service there. The place is always clean and the employees are always friendly. Keep up the good work.
The woodwork was exquisite and a joy to look at. The rare ice cream soup was also a delight.
Not good at all! All of their sauces clearly have been from a can. It was disgusting!
Food was hot on out side not warm in middle I had sweet and sour chicken and it was not good.
Black pepper chicken is amazing, everything else not so much. Ordered $60 worth of delivery and my chicken, beef, shrimp meal came just as chicken. It is nice to have asian food delivery in town though.
